Solvent free Epoxy

Solvent-free paint does not belong to a specific group of resins; in fact, the environmental concerns of the paint industry and coating, encourages less use of solvents and even remove them from the paint formulation. Non-solvent paint can be produced in either single-component or two-component form. In single-component mode, drying is carried out through oxidation and using drying agents. In two-part mode, the two components are mixed with a very short time before the application, and the reaction of the resin with the curing agent forms the film. Different factors contribute to the formation of paint defects, one of which is solvent; the removal of solvent from the raw material of color reduces many defects. The production and use of solvent-free paints also has other advantages as indicated below:

  1. decreasing air pollution
  2. Saving on raw materials and shipping costs
  3. Energy saving for coating production
  4. Time saving due to the possibility of applying thicker layers of paint at each stage
  5. Increased safety

The solvent epoxy structure does not differ significantly from the base epoxy structure, and its general properties are similar to those found in the solvent base epoxy component. The viscosity of this product is relatively high due to the lack of a solvent, which makes it difficult to mix and apply the coating, especially during the cold seasons. One of the ways to overcome this problem is to use active diluents to help regulate the viscosity and curing of the coating. In general, solvent-free epoxy coatings have a higher thickness than solvent base epoxy coatings, and the use of polyamide hardener is preferable to them. Manapolymer has four products manufactured in this series, which is discussed below.
